Micron to start making pico-projector modules (and stop making just microdisplays)

Micron has decided to start making pico-projector modules - and not just the microdisplays (in fact they will stop offering micro displays for new designs). Micron's micro-display unit (formerly DisplayTech) is making FLCoS based micro displays. They will release more information at CES 2010.

Several companies have built pico-projector modules based on Micron's displays (including, for example, the 3M Mpro-120). This will not make these companies very happy...
