Microvision developed a 720p HD (1280×720) laser pico projector, due in 2011

Microvision logoMicrovision has developed a new 720p (1280×720) HD ready laser pico projector. They will demonstrate this projector at the SID conference tomorrow. The new projector has 15 lumens of brightness, which makes it brighter than their SHOW-WX projector which has only 10 lumens, and a WVGA (848x480) resolution.

This is still just a prototype - Microvision only plans to have a commercial product based on this engine in the second half of 2011. We have something to look forward to...

So far!

Second half of 2011?! BOooo! You had me all excited, Lol. I bought the Aaxa L1 based on some other reviews and it has been awesome. I bet they have a new model out by next year too. So much exciting stuff! The L1 is already 20 lumens though (http://www.aaxatech.com/products/l1_laser_pico_projector.htm). Will the extra pixels really matter that much with the new Microvision if it's not bright enough to get a big screen? The L1 is 800x600 compared to 1280x720 on this one. Thanks for your help.

I agree, it seems a long time

I agree, it seems a long time to wait for it!

The Aaxa L1 does seem like a good product, but after doing a bit of research I went for the 3m Mpro 150. It supports Powerpoint, PDF etc... but it has a handy little zoom feature as well, which is nice to have. It comes with a 2gb SD card instead of a USB and it has 1gb of memory onboard too, I use it all the time, it's great!
