Mitsubishi announces highest-output red-laser diode for pico-projectors
Mitsubishi Electric announced a new red laser diode (638-nanometer wavelength) that offers an output power of 1W, which they say is the world's highest. The ML501P73 diode is aimed towards pico projectors and other portable display systems. Samples shipments will be available from November 18th.
The luminosity of the ML501P73 as a red light source exceeds 120 lumens (due to lasing at short wavelength), it features an electrical conversion ratio of 35% at 1W at a temperature of 25 degrees C which enables the reduction in power consumption.
