OSRAM announces new LEDs for pico projectors

Osram Opto semiconductors announced today two new LED products. One of them is, the OSTAR compact is designed for small applications, especially for pico projectors.

The OSTAR compact measures only 3.9 mm x 3.6 mm and is available in red, blue, green and white. Manufacturers wanting very compact units can use a double-chip version that contains a red chip and a blue chip in one LED. This saves space compared with the usual configuration of three individual LEDs (red, blue, green). As an SMT component, the LED can be easily integrated into standard manufacturing processes. Integrated ESD protection diodes guard against electrostatic effects.
