Over 1.8 million pico projectors expected to ship in 2010

Digitimes reports that market observers say that pico projector shipments are expected to reach 420,000 units in 2009 and 1.8 million in 2010. The mainstream technologies are expected to be DLP and LCoS.

A pico projector module now costs between 30$ to 150$, as opposed to over 200$ before. The market is expected to 'take-off' when prices drop between 20$ - which should happen in 2010.
