Pioneer Network Vision: using a pico-projector to power an automobile heads-up display

Update: we know learn that Pioneer is working together with Microvision on this project, and plan to launch first products by 2012.

Pioneer is showing their Network Vision HUD (heads-up display), a prototype system that projects information on your windshield (such as directions or general guidance). Pioneer is using a laser pico-projector to project.

The system connects to your smartphone (via Wi-Fi or bluetooth) - so it doesn't have to be "integrated" into the car. Pioneer hopes to commercialize this "in the future".
