Syndiant to show 6-way pico-projector comparisonSyndiant's SID exhibition booth will be interesting - they will compare 6 pico-projector technologies, side by side. This is an interesting comparison. Obviously the Syndiant projector seems best. You can see the photos for yourself below, and obviously visitors to SID will be able to check this personally to make sure that all projectors are used in full brightness and haven't been messed-up with... The six projectors are: An LBS projector (which is actually the Microvision Show-WX), Syndiant's own LCoS projector, Ferroelectric LCoS (these are made by Micron, and the projector looks like a 3M MPro, not sure which one), a 848x480 WVGA DLP, a color-filter LCoS and a 480x320 DLP projector.Click here and here to see the two photos in full resolution.

interesting
This should prove that 24 lumens is perceived brighter than 10 or 15 at a given distance from the screen.
A few key points:
- is this a comparison of all production (not production vs. pre-production) units?
- why not include the Laseno L1? The unique laser-LCOS unit using Syndiant tech?
- will this test include mobile factors? untethered use (the ability to move the units)?
The power?
The power is for LED only or for the whole system?
I went to SID, and this is a joke
I saw this demonstration live at SID yesterday. It is a joke. They put their absolutely newest technology against old technology. Of course it is going to look better. I went by 3M's stand, and their latest projector looked pretty nice in comparison. I also saw Microvision's new HD unit, and it was impressive also. I don't think Syndiant could stand up so well against other company's current technology, so that is why they focused on the old.
I went to SID too
I am not sure what the joke is all about. They made a comparison against existing products...
Bottom line is that their product (which is also in production) looked much better than their competition. Instead of crying foul for the comparison how about asking for quality from the other companies, two of them are absolutely crap and people buy them because they dont have a valid comparison.
I am not sure how any company would go about comparing their product otherwise. According to your logic do you expect to call every competitor and ask them to send you their newest, non released prototype or do you take the latest stuff in the market for comparison ???????????
Maybe your analysis is somewhat biased because you didnt like the results?
Bottomline, fussing over 24 lumens...bleh.
24 lumens does not get me excited. The brightest hand held projector in the market today is the M1plus by a company called aaxatech...that's 16 more lumens than the vaunted PK301. Also, the SHOWWX is a laser projector, shouldn't the demos be given using like/similar projectors in terms of technology and cost? The Showwx should be compared to the only other laser projector out there called the L1 also by this company called aaxa technologies...not sure who these aaxa guys are (can't find them in stores) but they seem to have the brightest ultra-portable projectors....
