3M's CP45 projector camcorder uses a Syndiant SYL2043 LCoS module

We just got word that 3M'2 new CP-45 projector camcorder is using Syndiant's SYL2043 LCoS module. This is not a surprise as we already know that the MP160 and MP180 projector use Syndiant's technology.

3M's CP45 is 3M's 2nd generation projector camcorder (an upgrade to the CP40) that offers HD (720p) videos, 5mp still camera, LED flash and 2GB of memory (and a microSD slot). It also has a small 2.4" LCD. The projector offers SVGA (800x600) resolution at 20 lumens. It includes A/V and composite inputs. The CP45 costs $299 in the US and £299.99 in the UK and Europe.

3M's CP45 projector camcorder is now available in Europe - shipping from Personal Projector in the UK for £299.99 (including tax). 3M's MP225a and CP45 pico projectors now shipping

3M's latest pico projectors, the MP225a and the CP45 projector camcorder are now shipping: you can get them from Amazon - the MP225a here and the CP45 here. Both cost $299.

The MP225a (shown above) is a pico projector aimed towards iPhone, iPod and iPad owners - it includes cable for most Apple devices (VGA and Composite cables are optional). The projector offers SVGA (800x600) resolution at 32 lumens. This is a stand alone projector with no media player on board.

3M Introduces a new pico projector screen for $99.99

3M are now offering the 26" PS05B portable projector screen - which costs $99. The company says that the screen offers high gain which doubles the brightness of a projected image compared to a traditional screen.

The 3M MP180 on special offer for UK customers

PersonalProjector now offers a new 3M MP180 bundle (which includes an iPad/iPhone 3/4 AV cable) on a special price - £284 / $466 / €323. To activate this price, go here and use the coupon 3m40. This is rather expensive if you're from the US (where the MP180 is available for $406) - but it's quite a good offer if you're from Europe and the UK specifically (normally the MP180 costs around £390). The offer expires on the end of August.

The MP180 offers SVGA (800x600) resolution, 30 lumens, a built-in media player (with 4GB internal memory and a microSD slot) supporting photos, movies and office documents, a touch display, Wi-Fi, a built-in browser and bluetooth to transfer files. It's bigger and heavier than previous models, and costs $435. But is it any good?
