TI is working on DLP-based automotive HUDTI says that they are developing DLP based solutions for the Automotive industry. One of these is a HUD display. The company didn't reveal any prototypes or technical details, but it's likely that they want to use a DLP pico projector for this. TI also announced a new OMAP 5 chip (codenamed Jacinto 6) which will be used to power those systems. The Jacinto 6 uses two Corex A15 cores, two Cortex M4 core and PowerVR SGX-544 graphics. TI will only start producing the Jacinto 6 in 2004, so we shouldn't expect those DLP HUDs before... Source: Engadget
