OSRAM improves the performance of their green laserOsram says that they have improved the epitaxial structure of their GaN green laser diodes - which leads to an increase in output power and longer lifetime. Osram also has some interesting comments about the pico-projector market. They say that if you want to have a 100 lumens brigtness you need a 515 nm green laser with an output power of at least 500 mW, a wall plug efficiency of at least 5% and a single mode output in both the lateral and vertical directions. Osram says that their laser exceeds these requirements - in the lab. Their best diode produces 70 mW at 522 nm with a wall plug efficiency of 5-6 percent, and have a spectral width of 1.8 nm. Reliability (defined as the time taken for the operating current to increase by 30 percent) – is more than 1000 hours. More info over at Compound Semiconductors
